Ground Beef Kabob



Ingredients:
Minced Beef/Lamb : 1 lbs (approx. 500 gms)

Onion : 1 (thinly sliced)
Chilli flakes : 1tsp
Green chilli : 4
Pepper powder : 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste : 2 tsp
Corriander leaves : a small bunch
Salt : To taste
Rice flour : 2 tbsp
Oil : To deep fry


Preparation:
1. Make a paste of the all of the above ingredients using a grinder.
2. Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.
3. Make kabobs out of the mixture and deep fry until golden brown (its cooked).


Serve with hummus.

Steak Cubes Pasta


Ingredients

Beef Cubes : 1 lb (approx. half kg)
Garlic : 5 cloves (Julienne cut)
Pepper : 1 tsp
Corriander leaves (Cilantro) : 10 leaf stems.
Lemon juice : 3 tbsp
Chilli flakes : 1/2 tsp
Pasta : 10 oz (I used Rotini. You can substitute any kind)
Salt : To taste
Butter : 1/2 cup
Olive Oil : 1 tbsp

Preparation

1. Marinate the beef cubes with 3 garlic cloves, pepper, cilantro, 1tbsp lemon juice and salt. Leave this mixture over night in the refrigerator.

2. Cook the pasta and keep it aside.
Cooking pasta depends on the type of pasta you use.Typically you would find the instructions on the box.

3. Meanwhile fry the beef cubes in a skillet with butter until its well done. Keep it aside.

4. In a pan add olive oil and saute it with 2 garlic cloves for 1 minute or untill the raw smell disappears. Add chilli flakes to this and saute for another minute. Switch off the flame. Add the beef cubes, pasta and the remaining lemon juice to this. Mix well and serve.

Chicken Biryani


Finally I have my own food blog :-).

Me and my hubby are great foodies and needless to say we have conquered every restaurant in the vicinity. But it was really the food blogs that unlocked my passion for cooking. Those recipes inspired me to experiment and to be more creative with my cooking.

I am hoping my recipes would inspire you guys too.

Ingredients:
Serves 2 to 4 people.
For the Masala
Chicken : 1 Full (Cut into small pieces)
Onion :  3 big
Tomato : 3
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp to marinate chicken + 2 tsp for masala
Green chilli : 8
Chilli powder : 3 tbsp
Garam Masala : 2 tsp
Corriander powder : 1 tsp
Turmeric powder : 2 tsp
Lemon Juice : 2 tbsp
Salt : to taste
Corriander leaves : a bunch
Oil : 2 tbsp (for sauting)

For the Rice
Basmati Rice : 3 cups
Cloves : 3
Cinnamon stick : 1
Cardamom : 2
Ghee  : 3 tbsp

Preparing the Masala:

1. Marinate the chicken with chilli powder, turmeric powder, 2 tsp ginger garlic paste and salt for an hour. Fry the chicken until it is cooked.

2. Meanwhile, grind the green chilli into a paste.

3. Add the oil to a pan and saute the onion until it is transparent.

4. Add the remaining ginger garlic paste and the green chilli paste.Saute till the raw smell goes.

5. To this add the tomatoes, all of the remaining powders and salt. Let it cook for few minutes so that it becomes a gravy.

6. When the tomatoes are well-cooked, add the fried chicken and lemon juice and mix it very well.

7. Add the corriander leaves and swith the stove off

Cooking the Rice:

1. Boil 6 cups of water. To the boiling water add the spices. Add salt.

2. In a separate pan heat the ghee and saute the rice for a minute or two.

3. Add the rice to the boiling water. Cover the vessel.

4. When the rice is cooked switch off the stove. The rice is now ready to be added to the masala.

Layering the rice and masala to mix:

Take half of the rice in your serving dish. Add the masala on top. Next add the remaining rice and mix very well.

Serve your delicious Chicken Biryani.
